Daliesque
Walking into work one morning, after having dragged my tired self up the stairs, I lamented the fact that I was more sore and sluggish than usual. My legs felt particularly bloated and slow.

I ducked into the small breakroom near the top of the stairs to investigate. I started to rub the top of my right leg, where the soreness seemed to originate, and the fibers of my pants crumbled away under my hands, exposing a bare area of the top of my leg. Further rubbing caused the skin to split, and I was disturbed to find that the interior of my leg was entirely made of steamed basmati rice.

Still interested in finding the specific cause of the pain, I dug through the delicate rice grains with my fingers, careful not to spill any out of the wound or to displace them unnecessarily, and about a quarter of the way into my thigh came across a single hard brown coriander seed.

"How odd," I thought. "That must be the problem, though."

I picked the seed out of the rice with my fingernails, turned it over in the palm of my hand with my left index finger a few times, and eventually dropped it into the trash.

I resumed walking to my desk, musing to myself as to how I never would have guessed, otherwise, that my legs were made of rice.
